Lokul ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data we collect. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Lokul mobile application and our website located at (https://www.lokul.live) (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described herein. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information directly from you, automatically through your use of the app, and from third-party services when necessary to provide our location-based platform.

Information You Provide Voluntarily

  • Account Credentials: To sign up, you provide your email address for passwordless one-time verification codes, or authenticate via trusted single sign-on services (such as Sign in with Apple ).
  • Profile Data: During onboarding, you provide a username, first and last name, date of birth, and optional details including a profile picture and bio.
  • User-Generated Content: We collect content you post publicly or send privately through the app. This includes event listings (titles, descriptions, venue names, addresses, price notes, and cover images), comments, direct and group messages, message read receipts, event RSVPs ("Interested" or "Going"), and safety/support reports.

Payment and Transaction Data

If you upgrade to a premium paid tier or purchase features to "boost" and highlight an event listing, your financial transaction data is collected. Lokul does not store or process your credit card numbers or billing credentials. All payments are securely handled by our authorized third-party payment gateways (such as the Apple App Store payment infrastructure). We only retain transaction metadata (e.g., confirmation tokens, purchase dates, and subscription status).

Precise Location Information

Because Lokul is an event-discovery platform, processing location data is necessary to run our core features

  • Foreground Geolocation: With your explicit device-level permission, we collect your precise GPS coordinates while the app is actively open in the foreground. This data is used to populate your discovery feed with nearby events and update your temporary location status.
  • Check-In Verification: When you check into a real-world venue, the app processes your precise location to confirm you are within physical proximity of the event.
  • Manual Input Fallback: If you choose to deny precise GPS tracking, you can manually input a city and preferred discovery radius to browse events.

Technical and Device Data

We automatically collect system-level data required to maintain application security and performance

  • Device Identifiers: Device model, operating system version, and unique platform identifiers.
  • Push Notification Tokens: Unique device tokens required to route alerts, reminders, and direct messages that you actively enable.
  • Local Storage: We utilize secure on-device caching to preserve your active authentication session and local preference toggles.

2. How We Use Your Information

We process your data to operate the Lokul ecosystem, support premium features, and maintain public safety

  • Core Service Delivery: To manage your profile, host and display event listings, facilitate chat communications, and map localized content.
  • Commercial Upgrades: To process premium host subscriptions and execute visibility "boosting" for prioritized events.
  • Automated Screening & Public Safety: In compliance with local laws and our safety guidelines, we utilize a combination of human administration and automated screening technologies to review public event details. This screening checks for spam, fraudulent listings, or prohibited unpermitted assemblies (such as illegal street takeovers). Note: Private direct messages and user profiles are never subjected to automated event safety screening.
  • Notifications: To deliver customized push notifications according to your chosen alert preferences.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosures

We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to third-party data brokers or advertising networks. We only share data under the following transparent conditions:

Mandatory Host Analytics Disclosure

If you interact with an event listing on Lokul—specifically by marking yourself as "Going" or checking into a physical venue—the designated host of that event (including hosts utilizing our paid tiers) will have access to localized attendance metrics. By interacting with or checking into an event, you explicitly authorize the transmission of your profile name, RSVP status, and the precise timestamp of your check-in directly to that host's dashboard.

Trusted Infrastructure Processors

We share data with core technology vendors who perform essential operations on our behalf

  • Cloud & Database Providers: Secure cloud hosting, real-time data synchronization, and media storage buckets.
  • Mapping & Geocoding APIs: Third-party mapping services (such as Apple Maps/MapKit) used to resolve addresses and display event coordinates on your screen.
  • Communication & Notification Networks: Infrastructure networks utilized to deliver push alerts and verification routing.

Legal Compliance and Public Safety

We may preserve and disclose your information to law enforcement, government officials, or private parties if required to do so by law or court order. Additionally, in accordance with our public safety policies, we reserve the right to share relevant data to investigate, prevent, or halt illegal activities, public endangerment, or violations of our Terms (including unpermitted street blockades or takeovers).

4. Third-Party Links and External Ticketing

Our Service contains links to external websites, such as third-party ticketing platforms, external navigation maps, or sponsor web links. Clicking these links takes you out of the Lokul application. We do not control, endorse, or assume liability for the privacy practices, cookie collection, or content of any external third-party platform.

5. Your Choices and Data Control

We believe you should have complete autonomy over your digital footprint. You can manage your information through the following tools

  • Profile Editing: Update or correct your name, username, bio, and profile picture directly through your in-app profile settings.
  • Location Controls: Revoke precise GPS tracking at any time via your mobile device's system settings.
  • Notification Preferences: Opt into or out of any of our specialized push notification categories instantly via our in-app settings toggles.
  • Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account at any time via the app settings. Upon activation, your device tokens and authentication sessions are removed, and your personal data is purged or permanently anonymized across our operational databases, subject to standard administrative backup latencies. 6. Age Eligibility and Restrictions

Lokul is strictly intended for individuals who are legal adults. We enforce a strict minimum age requirement of 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect, store, or process personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If we discover that an individual under 18 has bypassed our verification controls and established an account, we will immediately terminate the profile and permanently purge their associated data from our systems.
